David Lawrence

Saturday Night at 9 p.m. to Midnight on WGN, 720 AM Chicago

Back in 1991, David Lawrence was working at WMAL, the ABC station in Washington, DC, doing midday talk. On the weekend, he did the Saturday midday show as well. Specializing in general interest and political talk during the week, he rotated among several special interests on the weekend show: finance, real estate, federal issues, pets and computers. Far and away, the weekend topic that worked the best was the computer show. Callers lined up for a half an hour before the show started, and David took calls off-air for up to an hour after the next show began. He ended up doing the weekend show as computer only. The show has evolved over the years, and now Online Tonight can be heard every Saturday night from 9-midnight on Radio 720.

David's Mission Statement: "Today's world is filled with new challenges for the average individual to understand the digital revolution. Online Tonight demystifies the world of computers and the Internet by highlighting the high tech lifestyle and celebrating the high tech angle of pop culture. We avoid techno-jargon, explain it when we have to, and speak in plain English to our listeners about what computers are doing to revolutionize the world around us...and, most importantly, what it means to them."
